The 2024 Future Designer International Innovation Design Awards (IIDA) & Science for SDGs Innovation Contest under the umbrella of the International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development will solicit innovation and creative works from young people around the world to raise awareness of and advocate for the important role of Science, Engineering and STEM in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligning with the vision and mission of the International Decade of Science for Sustainable Development (IDSSD) to build a culture of science. Specifically, to contribute to the five main outcomes: 1) empowering the global community through scientific literacy, 2) generating and utilising actionable scientific knowledge to accelerate SDG progress aligned with human rights, 3) advancing basic sciences through global research collaborations, 4) promoting the widespread and equitable use of open science to democratise scientific processes and knowledge access, and 5) transforming national innovation systems to better serve scientific and societal needs. These outcomes are designed to foster a more inclusive and effective scientific foundation for sustainable development worldwide.
